Space Fruit with stroke sensor. Conductive thread is sewn through the red fuzzy yarn.  When the conductive threads touch they act as a switch and complete the circuit turning on a series of red LEDs. As long as the threads are touching, the LEDS will remain on, unlike a pressure sensor.

This particular flower is known as a Space Pizza.  They are characterized by appearing to be divided into four "slices" with soft colorful pods around the outer edges. Despite their name, these flowers are not edible.
